ABOUT BRUSSO YOGA
|
Six
years ago I stumbled into a yoga class at a health club. I
was middle aged, and as a result of 2 knee surgeries, had
been diagnosed with degenerative arthritis. I had been told
I would someday need a knee replacement. I had always thought
of yoga as a religion or cult. Instead, it is a science of
exercise. I knew my running days were over, but yoga has helped
me greatly. I have benefited from it not only as an exercise
regimen, but I have learned to breath properly and how to
clear my head.
As a coach I knew the 3 areas of focus for an athlete were
CARDIO, STRENGTH, and FLEXIBILITY. After going to yoga classes
on a regular basis for over 3 years, I decided to become
an instructor. Having been a coach for 25 years, it seemed
the natural thing for me to do. With the support of my wife
Cheryl, I went to school to become certified. I gained valuable
experience working at a Health Club. After completing work
at the college level, I brought yoga to my hometown through
the Raymond Recreation Department. I have taught classes
where students with MS are in the same class with accomplished
athletes. Now that I am nearing retirement from my Post
Office job, I would like to bring the WONDERFUL benefits
of yoga to as many people as possible.

SERVICES |
A
typical class involves a series of 25 exercises or postures.
It can be either a gentle or a vigorous workout. Since the
classes are to benefit you, I encourage each of my students
to listen to their own bodies and do as much as they can do.
At the conclusion of the postures there is a well-deserved,
final relaxation period.
